Valentyne Suite is a seminal album from my youth. In this and the other Colosseum albums Jon's drumming was technically great, controlled yet at the same time distinctive, driving and inspirational....and live WOW ! At the same time Dick Heckstall Smith took my attention then Barbara and Paraphernalia too, nearly 25 years later I took up the sax myself. I have in recent years fufilled my ambition to play sax in a band and its all down to Jon and Barbara and their band colleagues. Thanks a million for your inspiration and the boundless pleasure you have given over many years. RIP Jon and much love to you Barbara.....both class acts in every sense of the word xxx... Collapse
