Huge loss to his family, to his fellow musicians and to music itself. Saw Colosseum for the first time in 1969 at Southampton University and was astounded by their level of musicianship. I last saw them about five or six years ago with Barbara on sax. They sounded better than ever. I also saw him with the 'Bare Wires' line-up of Bluesbreakers at Southampton Guildhall - definitely Mayall's best band and arguably his best album. As I write this I am listening to JCM's "Heroes". I constantly 'Google' "Jon Hiseman tour" hoping that he'll be coming down my way - but now, sadly, he won't be and we are all the worse for it. RIP Jon - but he left a great legacy of superb music. My favourite drummer, a great band and what a true gentleman as well. Gone but definitely not forgotten.... Collapse
