Fond memories from 1st Colosseum, when we were all young, to the 90s and 00s band. From Colosseum I was introduced to the music of Neil Ardley and many others. What an astonishing musical legacy from a fine drummer and band leader who, it seems, was held in high regard, both as a musician and human being, by all who knew and worked with him. I'm sure he'll be missed by all, particularly family Hiseman. Rest in peace Jon and thanks for the wonderful memories..

I had the privilege of seeing colosseum at the royal albert hall after buying their albums. I am saddened by Jons death having felt he was going to continue to drive the drums forever. His enthusiasm and fervour for music produced a multitude of bands and never failed to attract virtuoso musicians into his fold of amazing colleagues.I will certainly miss Jon's style of music and I am sure his presence in the music industry will be missed by many. My heart goes out to Barbara, family and his friends.

Just bought Mojo and very saddened to read about Jon's death. Huge fan of Colosseum who I saw a number of times. What talented musicians. Of all the drum solos I have listened to/endured over the years his were the very best. My deepest sympathies to all his family.

Thanks for the fantastic music, I have been a fan of Colosseum and related music Tempest, Greenslade, and solo albums for the last 35 years. So glad I got to speak to Jon at the robin2 in Wolverhampton the JCM gig, but gutted I didn't get to ask the questions I had planed, I was a little star struck and also didn't want to use up too much of his time. The que was getting rather long. R.I.P. Jon your music will live on even my children sing along in the car.

The first live concert i ever went to was at the old refectory at southampton university and i had no idea what or who colloseum were but when they went on stage and started with walking in the park i was hooked and then they played tracks from the valentyne suite and they had me in another land called jazz rock but everything was driven by Jon's amazing ability to be the heart of the band so for that truly cataclysmic night i thank you and the rest of the guys RIP JH

Jon Hiseman - the most passionate and enthusiastic man I have ever met in every respect. A wonderful musician, family man and seeker of all new discoveries in life. I first met Jon in the 1990's as a classical saxophonist recording some of Barbara's wonderful music. His ability to 'cross over' into the realms of classical music summed up his thirst for knowledge and desire to master what he learnt. He could put many an experienced classical producer and engineer to shame. He will be sorely missed by so many.

Jon, thank you for so much in only a few years. Thank you for Barbara, for showing her so much love and being there for her in every way. Thank you for Ana & Marcus, and for being their inspiration and their muse. And thanks for all the handy tips - about speakers, drums, sound for mics etc, and going on and on about getting our videos out there. We'll take your advice! đŸ˜‰ You said this year was going to be big, and it has been. Life has been much richer for you being in it! Love, Nadine
